ARMY veterans were treated like VIPs during their annual get-together.

The Huddersfield and District Army Veterans visited Catterick Garrison for a passing out parade.

They enjoyed lunch in the sergeants’ mess and then visited the Green Howards’ Museum in Richmond.

Afterwards, the 54 veterans – all aged 65 and over – dined in Wetherby.

The oldest among the group were Betty France, from Golcar, and Fred Raynes from Dalton – both 92.

Committee member Robert Sugden said: “The passing out parade was very impressive and the veterans were treated like VIPs at Catterick.”
