BUS trippers are set to explore Manchester to look at 1960s murals by a Huddersfield artist.

The work of Alan Boyson, who lived in Slaithwaite and Netherthong in the 1980s and 1990s, can be seen all over Manchester– including The Tree of Knowledge at Cromwell School for Girls, Salford, pictured.

Boyson by Bus, a joint project by the Manchester Modernist Society and the Tiles & Architectural Ceramics Society, will see art fans explore murals, windows and other architectural decorations.

The event on June 11 will be led by Boyson expert and Huddersfield Civic Society chairman Christopher Marsden.

Meet at Fairfield Street entrance of Manchester Piccadilly station at 10.30am. Cost: £25 (£23 concessions).
