TWO Huddersfield film-makers are using the internet in a bid to get their new series on TV.
Kathy Noble and Clementina Herrero are harnessing the power of website YouTube to promote their series, Crazy Horse Chronicles.
The pair have written three series’ of the programme, which centres around main character Mickey – aka Crazy Horse – and his bid to form a successful band.
Kathy, from Almondbury, and Clementina, of Dalton, say the show is a family comedy.
They are currently filming the first series and will place each of the six episodes on YouTube to give viewers a taste of the programme.
The pair are hoping that it will prove popular and catch the attention of TV producers.
Clementina said: “We decided to promote ourselves through YouTube in the hope that TV companies will become involved. We think the programme will have big appeal. We are hoping grandmas will be able to sit down with their grandchildren and both find things to laugh at.”
The first episode of Crazy Horse Chronicles is already on YouTube and Kathy and Clementina plan to put on one episode online every month.
They will also be taking Crazy Horse – played by local actor Mr Melody – around Huddersfield on weekends to film scenes and promote the show.
Clementina and Kathy hope to include more local talent in future episodes.
Clementina said: “We want to give amateurs more opportunities and we are still looking at more characters.”
The move into TV is a change for both women. Clementina was an actress for 10 years and went to Salford University to do a media and performance degree before starting to write the Crazy Horse scripts.
She met drama teacher Kathy at a theatre group. Kathy gained a drama degree from Huddersfield University.
You can see the next episode of Crazy Horse Chronicles on YouTube from March 31.
