KIRKWOOD Hospice has been given a grand boost by the Freemasons.

Alan Elstone, a member of Meltham’s Lodge of Peace, donated £3,271 to the Dalton-based hospice on behalf of all 19 Huddersfield Freemasons Lodges.

The money came from the Freemasons Grand Charity, a national charity which makes a donation to lodges throughout the country to donate to hospices.

Alan said: “The Freemasons in Huddersfield are big supporters of Kirkwood Hospice and regularly fundraise for them, but this has come from the national charity to support the work of hospices.”
