A HUDDERSFIELD Giants star is to appear in court charged with an attack.

Darrell Griffin is accused of attacking a man and a woman in Huddersfield.

He was due to appear at Huddersfield Magistrates’ Court yesterday, but a letter from his solicitors was read out in court asking for an adjournment and stated that “business commitments” had stopped him from attending.

The Giants were travelling south yesterday to play against Warrington Wolves at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff at 3pm today.

Judge Jonathan Bennett adjourned the case for one week and 26-year-old Griffin will have to appear before him next Friday morning.

Griffin faces two allegations of “common assault by beating’’ a man and a woman in Huddersfield on January 28.

He was granted unconditional bail.

The former Wakefield Trinity Wildcats player is a powerhouse in the Huddersfield Giants pack.
