When he isn’t pushing wheelchairs, hospital porter Kais Hussain likes nothing more than pushing weights.

The Huddersfield Royal Infirmary worker is a keen bodybuilder and loves pumping iron to max his muscles. After battling back from a shoulder injury in 2010, Kais recently competed in the Mike Williams 2013 Classic held at Huddersfield Sports Centre.

He said: “I absolutely love my job at the hospital, meeting patients and being part of the team there.

“I can cover many wards in a day so my work helps keep me fit and my bodybuilding keeps me fit for work.”

Kais, 21, started bodybuilding five years ago and won best under 18 and a second place in his first show.

He was also second again in 2010 and has received invitations to compete in Mr Britain.

The Birkby man added: “No matter what position, win or lose, it takes determination and perseverance, drive, and a whole lot of guts to step on that stage and pose in front of 700 paying people.”

Kais is a member of Huddersfield Top Bodies Gym and is a qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer.

He has also made TV appearances on the Active Channel and is the Kirklees College Ambassador for Sports.
