THE hunt is on in Huddersfield for the next female icon.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Asian Women of Achievement awards.

The awards celebrate the contribution that Asian women make to the UK’s business, public, cultural and political sectors and previous winners include Huddersfield University professor Xiangqian Jange and actress Nina Wadia.

Now the search is on in Huddersfield to find this year’s most inspiring women.

The awards founder, Indian-born author Pinky Lilani, said: “We founded these awards to recognise the contribution that Asian women were making to British life – a celebration of the cultural and social enrichment they provide.

“Over the last 10 years, they’ve become both a barometer of social change and an important platform for Asian women.”

The closing date for entries is March 6. Visit www.realbusiness.co.uk/EventSites/Asian-Womens-Awards
