THE death of a man hit by a fire engine in Huddersfield will be recalled today.

An inquest will hear how Mr Robert Senior died six days after the accident in Lockwood Road last January.

The hearing, in Huddersfield, will be told how Mr Senior was one of three people struck.

Authorities have already decided no action will be taken against the fire engine driver.

Mr Senior, 37, suffered severe head injuries when he was one of three people struck by the vehicle at a crossing on Lockwood Road, on Saturday, January 10.

The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said no charges would be made against the driver, who was responding to reports of people trapped in a house fire.
