A healthcare provider is looking to create more than 100 jobs after landing a deal to extend its services across Huddersfield.

Allied Healthcare, which has local offices at Lockwood, is extending its adult home care services to cover additional areas including Lindley, Linthwaite, Marsden, Golcar, Newsome, Almondbury, Crosland Moor, Slaithwaite, Paddock and Salendine Nook.

The company, billed as the UK’s largest homecare provider with more than 140 branches nationwide and more than 15,000 care workers across the country, is now recruiting to fill more than 100 positions at Huddersfield following the contract win from Kirklees Council.

The company is seeking applicants for the posts of health care assistants and support workers – and aims to complete its recruitment drive over the next two to three weeks.

Candidates who phone in to apply or email their CVs will be interviewed at the Lockwood offices where successful applicants will also undergo induction and training.

Most of its clients in the area are elderly people needing care in their own homes, but the company also has clients with learning disabilities or debilitating head or spinal injuries.

Lisa Harris, head of communications for Allied Healthcare, said: “We believe that it’s vital that people are able to receive the care they deserve in the home they love and we want to make this a reality.”

She said: “At Allied Healthcare we tailor each care package to meet the needs of each individual. This can range from a shorter visit to check medication has been taken or 24 hour care.

“Finding the right people is at the heart of providing quality person centred care across Kirklees.

“Allied Healthcare is looking for passionate, committed and caring individuals to help provide care to more individuals within their own homes. Applications will be welcomed from those with experience in the industry or those wanting to begin a rewarding career in care.”

She said: “Successful applicants will receive industry-leading free paid training which includes first aid and basic life support, dementia awareness, health and safety, food safety, infection control, medications management and moving and handling service users to name a few.”

Applicants should contact the Huddersfield branch on 01484 481010.

Allied Healthcare began in 1972 as a one-branch home nursing service in Staffordshire. Originally called Notionvale, the company name was changed to Allied Medicare Nursing Services Ltd in 1983 and then to Allied Medicare Ltd in 1994.

In 1997, Allied Medicare Ltd was acquired by Transworld Home Healthcare Inc. By 2005, the number of branches totalled more than 100. The firm was re-branded Allied Healthcare in 2001 and became part of Acromas Healthcare in 2011.
