A HUDDERSFIELD man accused of a string of sexual offences against underage girls has appeared before a judge.

Peter Stafford-Simpson, 46, of Fenton Road, Lockwood, is alleged to have committed a number of offences against five teenage girls over a six-year period.

Stafford-Simpson was expected to enter pleas at Leeds Crown Court yesterday but the case was adjourned for a second time.

His barrister, Gillian Batts, asked for charges relating to one of the girls to be dismissed and indicated he would be pleading not guilty to the others.

Stafford-Simpson will next appear at Leeds Crown Court on December 7 and a provisional trial date has been set for February 11, 2013.

He was given conditional bail that requires him to sleep and eat at an address in Paddock and to not contact any of the witnesses.
