A MAN who claimed he had a masters degree to secure an NHS job has appeared in court.

Mohammed Sajead Ghaffar, 32, of Yews Hill Road, Lockwood, appeared at Kirklees Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

Ghaffar is charged with producing a fraudulent MSc certificate to secure a job as a biomedical scientist at Pinderfields Hospital, Wakefield, on April 21 last year.

Ghaffar is also charged with perverting the course of justice by giving false information at Huddersfield Police Station on June 6 last year.

District Judge Hopkinson granted him unconditional bail and Ghaffar will next appear at Leeds Crown Court on July 26.
