A MAN has appeared in court after breaking into a gym and stealing protein shakes.
Damien Thomas, 31, was before Huddersfield magistrates yesterday.
He admitted entering Nirvana Fitness at Chapel Street, Huddersfield, as a trespasser to steal a number of items.
These were two Active Sports protein shakes, one Muscle King whey protein shake and a laptop.
Thomas, of no fixed abode, also had a quantity of cannabis on him when he later attended Huddersfield police station.
Magistrates were told that he was remanded in custody after he had breached his bail condition to sign in at the police station.
He also failed to attend an appointment to help with the preparation of his pre-sentence report.
Thomas’ solicitor said he has a drug problem which needs to be addressed.
He was remanded in custody until January 23 when he will be sentenced.
