A MEMORIAL garden was dedicated in Huddersfield at the weekend.

The special garden, in the Market Place, will remain in place until after Remembrance Sunday next weekend.

The Mayor of Kirklees, Clr Julie Stewart-Turner laid a wreath of poppies at the memorial as a mark of respect for those who have died in wars.

She and her consort, Mr Darrell Turner, took part in a short dedication service which was led by the Chaplain of Huddersfield Sea Cadets, the Rev David Earl.

Uniformed organisations also took part in the service.
