A HUDDERSFIELD motorsport club has finally received a plaque to officially mark its 100th birthday – four years after the event.
Huddersfield Motor Club marked its centenary in 2004.
But it was only on Saturday that an official plaque was presented at the Holiday Inn, Brighouse, by the Motor Sports Association, which governs motorsport in Britain.
Secretary Stuart Holland is appealing for anyone with facts or memorabilia about the club to come forward.
He said: “Research has been difficult with many gaps remaining.”
The club was founded as Huddersfield Automobile Club in 1904. Today, it has 80 members, who meet each Monday night at the Travellers Rest in Upper Hopton.
