MOTORISTS are being warned about road closures as Kirklees Council steps up its repair programme.

Roads are set to be closed in the Holme Valley, Colne Valley and Denby Dale areas for between five days and six weeks.

In Holmfirth, Cartworth Road is set to close for 18 days between Lamma Well Road and Rotcher Road from August 25.

In Meltham, the Thick Hollins Road and Acre Lane area is set to be hit by roadworks for a week from August 22.

New Lane at Scapegoat Hill will be closed from August 22 for five days.

In Marsden, Argyle Street is set to close for six weeks from September 5.

Road works are also coming to Almondbury where Far View Bank and Far View Crescent will be closed for two weeks from September 5.

In the Denby Dale area Wakefield Road is to be closed to motorists on Sundays from Sunday, September 4 to Sunday, October 2. The closure will be from outside 375 Wakefield Road to the junction with Leak Hall Crescent.

Shepley will also be hit by the closure of Church Lane for two weeks from September 5.
