HUDDERSFIELD MP Barry Sheerman has suggested the Duchess of Cambridge, would make a perfect ambassador for employment.

Yesterday in the House of Commons, the Labour MP raised the point that young people leaving school and college needed a new face to inspire them.

He said: “The people that we have already got are lacking in leadership and imagination.

“We need to bring in someone with some new vigour. I suggested the Duchess of Cambridge.

“Young people recognise her as a well educated, qualified young woman.

“Statistics for getting young people in to employment is still bad and here in Huddersfield it is no different, it is still pretty bad.

“We are hoping to launch a new scheme with Yorkshire Big Lottery to help unemployed struggling young people in to employment.”
