A WORRIED mum has hit out at a lack of action to clear a mountain of rubbish behind her home.

Mother-of-four, Dee Batley, says Kirklees Council has failed to act on her reports of fly tipping in Cowlersley.

Mrs Batley said the pile of trash behind South Avenue was growing and was a danger to local children.

She said: “Not only is it an eyesore, there’s actually bags of poo in it.

“The kids all play out there because there’s a grassed area.

“But that’s where it’s all full of rubbish so I can’t let them out there.

“I even collared our bin man but he said ‘it’s not my job’.

“I’m sick of waiting, it’s disgusting.”

A spokeswoman for Kirklees Council said they had recently cleared rubbish from land at the back of nearby property, but did not have a record of Mrs Batley’s report.

The spokeswoman said the area would now be visited by the Environmental Protection Team.
