FIFTY Huddersfield people are wanted – to get their kit off!
But it’s all in the best possible taste for a University of Huddersfield project.
Models of all shapes and sizes are being called on to pose nude for photography student Kate Lawrence.
The 20-year-old is putting together her final year project on the body to see if people feel good naked.
Adults of all ages, genders, sexualities and ethnicities are being asked to strip off for individual photo sessions.
The pictures will then be displayed together in a university exhibition later this year.
Kate, who specialises in nude erotica, said: “I want to understand why people feel more comfortable clothed than in their natural form.
“I want to look at the way people feel when they are unclothed and try to make them feel nude rather than just naked.
“I think it will make people feel better about themselves and hopefully give them more confidence.
“People always stop themselves doing things like this because of their own hang-ups.
“I see everyone as beautiful.”
About 20 volunteers have already put themselves up for the challenge, taking part in three different photo shoots each – one where they feel comfortable, another in a studio and finally a place they would never dream of going naked.
Kate, of Aspley, said the overall reaction had been surprising.
She added: “Everyone has said it is so thrilling and so much fun.
“One man was really nervous about going naked but came out saying he felt so much better about his body and would happily pose outside.
“Nothing shocks me and I wouldn’t be offended by anything.
“I would say just go for it.”
Kate starts the sessions by asking the model five questions about nudity and how they feel about their body.
Next, she asks people to pose in three different positions they feel comfortable being naked in.
People can show as much or as little as they like.
The models are then asked the same questions about their bodies to see if their views have changed.
