HUDDERSFIELD pupils have signed up to help break a world record.

Children from Moldgreen Primary and Paddock Junior School will be taking part in a record breaking sign language attempt next year.

They will attempt to set a new record for the most people signing and singing a song simultaneously.

Last year Children from five Huddersfield schools were among 94,489 that smashed the previous world record of 13,418.

The pupils from Castle Hill School in Newsome, Denby CE First School in Upper Denby, Kayes First and Nursery School in Clayton West, Paddock Junior Infant and Nursery School and Spring Grove Junior all signed and sang The New Seekers’ 1970s song I’d Like To Teach The World To Sing.

The attempt, organised by charity SignHealth, will take place on February 8.

More than 500 schools have already agreed to take part.

The charity provides health services for deaf people.

The event is a fundraiser for its work.
