A HEALTH official from Kirklees has been given a new role with the troubled Student Loan Company.
Jane Hanson – a non-executive director of Calderdale and Huddersfield Foundation Trust – is one of three new directors appointed by Minister of State for Higher Education David Lammy to the body, which has been criticised for massive delays in approving loans.
The three new appointments replace two non-executive directors who retire at the end of their terms and another who resigned from her position last September due to new work commitments.
The new SLC non-executive directors are Mrs Hanson, Willie Gallagher and Michael Yuille.
Mr Lammy said: “These new appointments will bring invaluable expertise in the fields of financial audit, risk management, governance, customer service and volume processing to the Student LoansCompany.
“I am confident that these individuals will provide the high-quality strategic advice and guidance the SLC needs”
Jane Hanson is a qualified chartered accountant by profession with 20 years experience in the financial sector.
