A SCOOTER rider was slightly injured after a smash with a taxi in Huddersfield.

Police were called to a collision between a white Lambretta and a white Vauxhall Astra at Westbourne Road, Marsh, just before 4pm yesterday.

The crash was on the westbound carriageway at the junction of Reed Street, near the Co-operative supermarket.

The vintage scooter ended up crushed beneath the nose of the private hire vehicle.

No-one was taken to hospital. Police directed traffic around the damaged vehicles until they were recovered.
