A 35-YEAR-OLD Huddersfield woman faces prison for theft offences committed more than three years ago.

It is understood that Mandy Leach was employed as a support worker in the Bradford area when she stole a total of £6,200 from a man.

During a hearing at Bradford Crown Court yesterday , Leach, of Upper Brow Road, Paddock, pleaded guilty to three separate charges of theft committed between December 2007 and May 2008.

The sums stolen were £3,000, £1,500 and £1,700.

Leach's barrister Shufqat Khan told Recorder Simon Hirst that his client was a woman of previous good character and he asked for her sentence hearing to be adjourned for the preparation of a pre-sentence report by the Probation Service.

Recorder Hirst agreed to the adjournment but he told Leach that she had admitted serious matters which were aggravated by the breach of trust aspect of the case.

Prosecutor Duncan Ritchie told the court that the prosecution would be taking proceedings against Leach under the Proceeds of Crime Act to try and secure compensation for the victim of her offending.

Leach was granted bail until her sentence hearing on November 18.
