HUDDERSFIELD Town's 'Magnificent Seven' cyclists set off on their 200-mile fundraising ride to Wembley at noon today.

The team, led by Town chairman Dean Hoyle, left the Galpharm Stadium surrounded by flag-waving relatives, supporters and club staff.

Dean wants to raise at least £45,000 to take 1,000 under-privileged kids to Wembley and revealed that the total was close to £40,000 already.

Dean said: "The fans have been brilliant dipping their hands in their pockets and it makes me very proud to be chairman of a football club where the fans are so generous. We are helping out boys and girls whose life is tough and we are giving them a day to remember."

The first leg of the ride ends at Worksop tonight, followed by a run to Peterborough tomorrow and ending with a cycle down Wembley Way on Friday afternoon.
