HUDDERSFIELD TOWN officials have promised tough action against any fans involved in ugly scenes after Tuesday’s play-off game.
And the club has urged genuine supporters to come up with evidence about the alleged fracas involving MK Dons player Alan Smith.
Smith was allegedly jostled, pushed and spat at by fans who invaded the pitch at the final whistle, as Town won through to a Wembley play-off final..
MK Dons manager Karl Robinson labelled those involved as “morons”.
And Town chairman Dean Hoyle said it was “upsetting” a great night had been tarnished. Now the club, the police and stadium safety staff are looking at CCTV footage.
Mr Hoyle said: “I am not going to prejudice the outcome but personally as chairman of the club, I unequivocally condemn the actions of any so-called supporter who engages in any form of anti-social or violent behaviour.”
The club urged anyone with information to contact operations director Ann Hough on firstname.lastname@example.org
