TWELVE-YEAR-OLD Harry Bissett is convinced his hat is the lucky charm behind Town’s 27 game unbeaten run.

The Terriers haven’t felt the pain of defeat since the Holmfirth lad began wearing his woolly bobble hat for Town’s game at Carlisle on New Year’s day.

Having been thumped 4-1 by Southampton a few days earlier, the Galpharm club drew 2-2.

Harry decided the turnaround of fortunes was due to his lucky hat.

He was proven right when the following four-and-a-half months saw Town notch up the longest undefeated run in League One.

Dad Andrew said his son’s dedication to the hat had seen him pick up a bit of a cult following with his fellow supporters.

He said: “It’s been a bit legendary on away trips.

“He’s had a few songs sung to him by the other supporters like ‘he’s got a tea cosy on his head’.

“When we went to MK Dons it was about 25°C but the hat stayed on.

“So his shirt was off and his hat was on.

“It goes on before we head off and stays on until we get home.

“Last Saturday it was on at 4am for the trip to Bournemouth.”

Andrew said the lucky charm was clearly working and he called on Town chairman Dean Hoyle to stock the shelves with identical hats before the big game against Peterborough at Old Trafford a week on Sunday.

He added: “I think we should get some in the club shop.

“We talked about changing it to a Town one but it didn’t seem right while they were on this run”.
