FOOTBALL fans’ cars were targeted by thieves as they watched Huddersfield Town last night.

Six cars were broken into in the Hillhouse area during Town’s 4-3 victory over Walsall at the Galpharm Stadium.

There has been an ongoing problem with vehicle crime on match days.

Just last week the police issued warnings after 60 break-ins – many on streets around the stadium – in two months.

Det Con Dave Kinghorn, from Huddersfield CID, said drivers should take precautions.

"Remove anything of value from view," he said.

"Even the most insignificant items – small change and cigarettes – can be a temptation."
