TRAVEL for Huddersfield Town’s away trip to Chesterfield was tougher than usual for one set of fans.

A group of 13 fans shunned their cars and walked the 37 miles to the Spireites’ B2Net Stadium to raise cash for Mirfield girl Bailey Coppack.

The 12-year-old Castle Hall schoolgirl is battling a brain tumour and needs specialist proton therapy treatment in America.

The group set off from the Galpharm Stadium at 4am and arrived in Chesterfield in plenty of time for kick-off last night.

Organiser Luke Wielgus said: “I did a walk to Sheffield for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance with Bailey’s parents last year so when I heard they needed to raise all that money I decided to organise this one.

“It’s by far the hardest thing I’ve ever done but I loved every minute of it.”

The group hope to raise more than £1,000.

Doctors have twice operated on Bailey’s tumour but each time it has grown back.
