EUROPE’S biggest online arts showcase has selected a Huddersfield University graduate as one of its winners.
Alex Haines, 25, beat over 9,000 other applicants in the NOISEfestival to land a two-week placement with London-giant Hemingway Design.
Alex said: “I’ve always had a real passion for the creative arts, so the opportunity to work with Hemingway Design is fantastic.
“If they feel I have something to offer in return then even better.”
Alex’s entry was a London housing estate concept, called Glass SoHo, created using graphic artwork and 3D Photoshop works.
He created it after he graduated from Huddersfield with a First in 3D design.
Wayne Hemingway, co-founder of Hemingway Design, said: “Alex’s entry struck me straight away.
“It’s slick, fresh and forward-thinking.”
NOISE is an arts festival for the under-25s which takes place entirely on the web.
The best work submitted is selected by a panel including Hemingway, musician Badly Drawn Boy and Turner Prize nominee Richard Billingham.
The next NOISEfestival opens for submissions in late 2009.
