MOST University of Huddersfield students were satisfied with their experience at the establishment, according to official figures released today.

A survey, by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), found that 85% of Huddersfield University students surveyed were happy with the teaching and support they received this year.

Huddersfield University, which scored 79% last year, finished 81st out of 291 English universities and further education colleges this year.

The university also scored above this year’s national average (83%).

Kirklees College finished below average with 76% of those surveyed satisfied, compared to 78% last year.

Minister for Universities David Willetts said: “This survey shows that student satisfaction is high on average. This is welcome news. No wonder record numbers of young people at home and abroad wish to study at our world-class universities.”
