HUDDERSFIELD University is spreading its wings as far as China.

Students at Shanghai’s Sino-British College have enrolled on the university’s degree in events management.

The group can organise their learning to spend either two years in China and two in Huddersfield – or three in China and one in Huddersfield.

Tutors from the university also travel to Shanghai regularly to deliver blocks of lectures.

Rita Carmouche, head of hospitality, tourism, leisure and events, said: “It means our staff members travel regularly over to the Sino-British College to teach weekly blocks of lectures identical to the ones taught here.’’

Around 60 Shanghai students enjoyed a visit to Huddersfield University.

They were welcomed by vice-chancellor Professor Bob Cryan.
