VISITOR attractions in Huddersfield have been urged to help promote Yorkshire during British Tourism Week.

The week of activities, which runs from March 23 to 29, aims to highlight the role tourism plays in strengthening the UK economy.

The Yorkshire Tourist Board is urging businesses across the region to get involved by backing its exhibition stand in the Best of Britain and Ireland travel trade forum to be held on March 26 and 27 in London.

Those supporting the event include Pennine tourism businesses, covering Huddersfield, Dewsbury and the Holme and Colne valleys.

YTB chief executive Gary Verity said: “The aim is to bring Yorkshire alive and demonstrate the variety that the region has to offer.

“As the UK heads into the main holiday season, this is a prime time to get involved.”
