FISH, chips and a pair of trousers, please.
That’s the call to Huddersfield businessman Yousef Mohammed on a regular basis.
The man who has run a Huddersfield chippy for years has expanded the business to include a clothes store.
Elite Fisheries on Westgate, decided to open up Off The Hook clothing alongside its takeaway.
Mr Mohammed, 39, who helped run Elite Fisheries decided to revamp the fish shop and built a clothes store next door.
The store was built after a revamp extended the building.
Mr Mohammed said: “We had our restaurant and takeaway running and we spent money on giving them a revamp and it was fairly big.
“This left a lot of space and most of it was being wasted, so we wanted to make the most of it.
“We separated the space and made one part of the store a takeaway and one part of the store a clothes shop.”
The idea of the shop came easily because Mr Mohammed already had retail experience and had worked on markets.
He said: “I thought we would start with a shop I knew I could run.
“It’s not too difficult to run a clothes shop!”
The shop opened last month selling a selection of men’s clothing and shoes.
According to Mr Mohammed: “Business has been steady since we opened.
“Our prices are cheaper than most places because we have no overheads and I run the shop myself.”
