FIRE destroyed a cricket pavilion at Salendine Nook High School late last night.
The pavilion, at the back of the school, was totally engulfed in flames.
News of the blaze, at around 10.00pm, spread amongst students on Facebook.
The weather, winds and driving rain helped the firefighters and kept flames away from the main buildings.
A fire brigade spokesman said the call had been received at 10pm. The cause was unknown but arson has not been ruled out.
Two engines attended the scene.
