A HUDDERSFIELD company has been fined £20,000 after its lorry drivers did not take sufficient breaks.

Bed manufacturer Joseph International Ltd, of Express House, Station Road, Bradley, was before Huddersfield Magistrates after drivers failed to take daily rest periods as laid down by law.

The company was fined £20,000 with £960 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

In February the company was fined £18,000 for fire safety breaches after a judge branded conditions at its premises a potential ‘death-trap.’

The company was also ordered to pay costs of £3,129.59 then.
