More than 600 children from all across Huddersfield competed in the annual Pennine Sports Partnership Sportshall Athletics Finals at Leeds Road Playing Fields.

Twenty-one primary and secondary schools took part in a high standard of athletics.

Lindley Juniors and Moorlands Primary won through to represent the Partnership in the Kirklees championships.

They will be joined there by Holmfirth High, Honley High, Salendine Nook, Huddersfield Grammar and North Huddersfield Trust School.

School Games Organiser Seth Foster said: “It is fantastic to see so many young people engaged in sport and activity.

“The standard they produced was exceptional.”

The final was the culmination of three months of qualifying events which each of the schools progressed through.
