TOWN'S players were mobbed by fans this afternoon as they arrived at the Galpharm Stadium.

The players, who won a dramatic play-off penalty shootout against Sheffield United at Wembley to secure Championship football next season, were arriving to start a celebratory bus tour.

But they were met at the stadium by hundreds of fans, young and old, clamouring for autographs and photos.   Among the heroes were goalkeeper Alex Smithies, and his team-mates Lee Novak and Tommy Miller, who were all smiles as they chatted to supporters.   The players' bus tour left for the town centre at 5pm, with Town manager Simon Grayson and club owner Dean Hoyle taking pride of place on the open top deck - along with the gleaming play-off trophy.
