MUSLIMS gathered to celebrate the end of Ramadan.

Around 500 men, women and children gathered in Fartown for an Eid celebration.

The event was held at the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association’s new centre at The Pavilion on Spaines Road.

The celebration marks the end of the holy month of fasting.

President Munir Ahmed said: “It is a day of much rejoicing and happiness.

“The event gives members immense pleasure, especially the young children who take pride in wearing new clothes, being offered gifts, sweets and money and meeting friends and relatives.

“The spirit of Eid-Ul-Fitr is for Muslims to reflect on one’s condition of spiritual improvement and resolve and to move forward to an even higher spiritual development.”

Several members from the Huddersfield community also attended a massive celebration in London.
