HUNDREDS of women flocked to a spectacular evening of fashion and dance.

About 300 participants from all backgrounds took part in the multicultural celebration at the Deighton Centre.

The evening featured three fashion shows and jazz, ballet and Bollywood dancing.

It even saw the spectacle of a Punjabi wedding brought to life.

Guests became members of the wedding party and joined in with some traditional Indian folk dancing.

They also enjoyed some Asian food and listened to a prepared song with a drug awareness message.

Shaveta Sharma, the owner of Bradford Road-based shop Bobby Fashion, helped organised the event.

She said: “This is the second event we’ve done.

“The last one was fully packed and the ladies enjoyed it so much that they came back to me and said do another one.

“Asian ladies don’t go clubbing or on nights out so we wanted to do something that everyone could come to and have a nice time.

“We also wanted something that was multicultural that could include everybody.”
