THE Air Training Corps has launched a search for volunteers in Yorkshire.

The nationwide recruitment campaign, starting this month, has been entitled Challenge Yourself.

The ATC works with teenagers aged 13 to 18.

It helps them achieve a range of personal challenges.

But the ATC needs adult volunteers enthusiastic enough to help teenagers make the grade.

There are eight ATC squadrons in Kirklees and Calderdale.

The 59 Squadron is based in Huddersfield.

Lieut Emma Leech, who commands the squadron, said: "We need volunteers with a wide range of skills. It's about helping cadets achieve their own goals.

"Those goals can be anything from gaining qualifications in flying or taking part in adventure training expeditions in this country or overseas."

The recruiting campaign is run by the Air Cadet Organisation.

Wing Comdr Roger Moss commands the South and West Yorkshire Wing. He said: "As a volunteer you would be helping shape the lives of young people."
