A knifeman who attacked a motorist and a woman is being hunted.

The thug struck twice in just a few minutes in the centre of Cleckheaton.

And police hope revellers on their way home will be able to help them catch the man who struck at the weekend.

Detectives want to speak to anyone who has information about the linked incidents which took place outside, and near, The George public house between 4am and 4.45am on Saturday.

The first attack was at the rear of the pub after a 22-year-old woman was punched by a man. She did not need hospital treatment.

A short time later, the man approached a man who was sitting in a silver Renault Megane on Greenside.

He smashed the car window with what was believed to be a knife, and cut the arm of the 29-year-old male driver. The male victim was able to drive away from the scene but later needed hospital treatment for his injuries.

The suspect for both offences has been described as in his early 20s with scruffy, mousey hair. He was 5ft 9ins in height and described as of very thin build. He had a small amount of facial hair and was wearing a white jacket and jeans.
