A DOG which attacked a woman in Newsome is thought to be called Taz.

The woman was walking to pick up a meal from the Khyber Pass takeaway on Church Lane when the dog - which was roaming outside - attacked her.

She suffered two large puncture wounds to her right thigh and the dog also bit through the muscle. The woman needed stitches.

Two youths who had been in the takeaway came out, put a lead on the dog and walked off. They called it Taz.

The dog is muscular and dark brown, with a white chest and a big head.

The attack happened at 7.40pm on Tuesday, October 25. Anyone who knows who the dog's owners are should ring police on 01484 466773.
