IT'S VALENTINE'S Day - and love is certainly in the air for Lindley couple Terry Lowther and Jane Barraclough.

Jane, 36, and Terry, 64, will be tying the knot at Huddersfield Register Office this week at a ceremony witnessed by Jane's children Jemma, 17, Bret, 12 and Terry's grown-up children Jane and Steven.

Terry said it was a romantic week to get wed.

He said: "I love her to bits. It's been Valentine's Day all week this week!"

Terry and Jane will be jetting off to Terry's Spanish holiday home near Barcelona for their honeymoon.

The couple met at The Black Bull in Lindley in October 2005.

Retired Terry, who was living in Spain, had been visiting friends in Lindley.

Jane, who lived in Lindley, was on a night out with friends.

Terry said: "We got talking and spent a very pleasant night chatting.

"We said our goodbyes because I was flying back to Spain the following day.

"We swapped mobile numbers and she texted me to say have a nice trip.

"I knew I wouldn't be back until Christmas, so I said would she mind being my `text amigo'."

The couple swapped texts on a regular basis as friends.

But things only took a romantic turn when Terry arranged for flowers to be delivered to Jane at her workplace, CityCar car sharing scheme at The Media Centre on Northumberland Street.

He said: "It was the first time anybody had sent her flowers. I was not aware of that.

"I rang her for the first time instead of texting and she was a bit tearful and said it was wonderful and she was so happy.

"Our relationship changed then from being good friends to realising we had fallen in love. I had fallen in love with my text amigo."

Terry arranged to fly back to England in early December 2005.

He decided to make his permanent base at his Lindley apartment and Jane, who is studying to be an accountant, moved in with 12-year-old Bret.

When they decided to tie the knot, Terry and Jane held a joint stag and hen party at The Black Bull - and are planning a party there for friends when they return from their honeymoon.

Terry said: "We wanted to keep the wedding itself low key but we will be celebrating with friends in Spain and also with friends in Lindley when we get back."
