A MAN has admitted murdering his father in a knife attack at their Huddersfield home last September.

Dawood Ahmed, 34, a former hairdresser, had been due to stand trial at Bradford Crown Court this week charged with killing Sana Ullah.

But when his case came before the Recorder of Bradford, Judge Stephen Gullick, yesterday Ahmed entered his guilty plea.

The divorced father-of-two was helped during the hearing by an interpreter.

Judge Gullick remanded Ahmed back into custody to await his sentence next Friday.

Ahmed's 67-year-old father suffered fatal stab wounds to his chest during an attack at their home off Bradford Road, Fartown, last September.

Police discovered the body of the retired hairdresser in a downstairs bed at the house.

Ahmed shared the house with his father. Their home was in a row of back-to-back houses.

Police were called to the house at about 7pm on the evening of September 22.
