SHE is best known for playing characters such as Footballers’ Wives super-bitch Tanya Turner.

But Huddersfield actress Zoe Lucker is now taking on a new kind of role, fronting a new property series.

Zoe, 34, whose first baby is due next month, will host the 10-part show called Love The Place You’re In, a home improvement series that will be aired on UKTV Style this October.

The series, produced by Talkback Thames, is a new concept which reflects the changes in the housing market and how the credit crunch is affecting would-be buyers.

Zoe, now in Holby Blue, is renovating her home and expecting the imminent arrival of her first child, and is perfectly cast as the voice of the real homeowner.

She said: “I’m really pleased to be presenting this new show. I’m renovating my home so can really identify with the contributors and will hopefully learn some tips of my own as well as giving them some advice!”

Zoe, originally from Lindley, will be joined by Changing Rooms’ interior designer Gordon Whistance, who will cast his expert eye over the properties.

Also on the programme will be psychologist Linda Papadopoulos, who will be providing an insight into the minds and behaviour of the homeowners.

Together they will meet families whose homes no longer meet their needs, from children who are turning into teenagers, a recently divorced person or someone who needs to work from home.

The show comes in the light of the fact that while in the past, dissatisfied homeowners might have moved, in today’s climate more and more are having to stay put and learn how to make the most of their home.

UKTV’s commissioning editor for factual entertainment, Catherine Catton, said: “I’m delighted to be working with Zoe.

“As someone going through her own home renovation she will really be able to empathise with the homeowners.

“As the credit crunch starts to bite and the housing market declines Love The Place You’re In is a timely series that is about viewing your home as a nest, not a nest egg.”
