POLICE have released this computer image of a man wanted for trying to abduct a teenage girl.
A man fitting the description tried to pull the 14-year-old girl into an alleyway in Cowlersley at around 10pm on Good Friday.
She was walking along Cowlersley Lane from the Milnsbridge area on her own when he struck at the junction of Josephine Road, close to the Premier Food and Wine shop.
Det Con Richard Ford, of Kirklees CID, said the man was sitting on a bench.
He said: "He tried to speak to her initially. There was a very brief conversation and then he attempted to drag her down a dark alleyway at the side of the food and wine shop.
"She managed to break free and run off."
The man is mixed race, aged between 20 and 30, around 5ft 7in tall and was wearing a light coloured top and dark trousers.
