The condition of a motorcyclist hit by two cas in Huddersfield has slightly improved.

The 22-year-old man’s condition was today described by police as “still serious, but not thought to be life threatening.”

The biker was taken to Northern General Hospital in Sheffield after a collision on Penistone Road just after 10pm on Tuesday night.

An Audi A6 turned right via a filter lane on to Storthes Hall Lane, Kirkburton, and collided with the Yamaha motorbike travelling along Penistone Road towards Huddersfield.

The biker was thrown off his machine and was then in collision with a Ford Focus.

Police investigations are ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the collision should call the Western Area Safer Roads and Neighbourhood Support Team on 101.
