THE investigation into the Grosvenor Chemicals fire of May 2010 is now complete, but many questions remain.

Representatives from the Environment Agency, Health and Safety Executive (HSE), fire services and Kirklees Pollution and Noise Control gave a joint statement to the Kirklees Council meeting last night.

Spokesman Rom Naplocha, an HSE inspector, said that the agencies were limited in what they could say, as the matter was sub judice and involved matters of commercial confidentiality.

He added that there were still issues concerning security, chemical storage and the steep badly maintained access road at the Linthwaite plant, but nobody knows who owns the road.

A decision on possible legal action will be made later this year.
