A BISHOP jetted in from the Caribbean to speak at a Huddersfield church.

Bishop John Grey spoke at the New Testament Church of God on Great Northern Street.

He travelled to Huddersfield from the British Virgin Islands, where he is currently working as assistant national overseer for the New Testament Church of God.

He travelled with his wife, Joanne, who helps him with his ministry.

The bishop is well-known as an international religious speaker.

He has spoken at churches all over the world and has had ministries in Ghana, Liberia, South Africa and the USA.

He was also director of the New Testament Church of God's National Men's Ministries in England for 10 years.

The National Men's Ministries is a department of the church which develops programmes to enrich men's lives spiritually, emotionally and socially.

The Rev Orlando Brown, of the New Testament Church of God, said the bishop was also well-known for his work in recruiting people to the church.

Mr Brown said: "Through his many years in office many young men have been inspired into the ministry.

"The prisons he has worked in have seen many inmates accepting the Lord into their lives. He has been a blessing and a great spiritual inspiration. We were privileged to have him as our guest speaker."
