A TEENAGER has appeared in court for the second time accused of having more than 2,000 indecent images of children.

Alex Hill, 19, of Halifax Road, Brighouse, faces 21 charges of making indecent photographs and movies.

The offences date back to August 2010 when Hill was just 17.

Hill was arrested after an investigation by Interpol in Luxembourg.

He appeared before Kirklees magistrates in Huddersfield yesterday, but has been told his case is so serious it can only be dealt with by the Crown Court.

Hill is alleged to have had 2,018 level one images, 10 at level two, 114 at level three, 306 at level four and six level five images.

Level five images are the most serious and show sadism or involve an animal.

Hill is also alleged to have had three level one movies of children.

The images included both girls and boys. The youngsters in the pictures were as young as two but as old as 15.

No pleas have been entered.

Hill was released on unconditional bail and the case was transferred to Leeds Crown Court.

A preliminary hearing will be held on January 25.

A previous hearing was told that the offences came to light as part of an investigation by Interpol in Luxembourg.

Police were alerted to child abuse material on a server traced to Hill’s address.
