CHILDREN are being invited to a series of Kirklees Summer Playcamps, to be held at Woolley Edge Campsite during the school holidays.

The camp is open to children aged nine to 12 years and is run by an experienced voluntary organisation and staffed by teachers, students and experienced volunteers.

The camp allows groups of about 75 children to spend four days and three nights in the countryside.

Each of the three nights will be spent in tents.

Children will not need any special equipment, just sensible clothing, footwear and a sleeping bag, which will be provided if necessary.

The children take part in various activities organised and supervised by the staff.

These will include: archery, circus skills, water slide, giant Connect-Four, arts and crafts, team games, cycling, sports and various other activities.

The camp dates are as follows: Camp 1 – July 25 to 28; Camp 2 – July 29 to August 1; Camp 3 – August 4 to 7; Camp 4 – August 8 to 11; Camp 5 – August 14 to 17;Camp 6 – August 18 to 21.

The cost of a summer camp is £55 per child or £27.50 for those with a priority Kirklees passport.

The price includes coach travel and all meals.
